Sometimes a few moments of silence speak louder than McCain’s vote on this issue (he voted against requiring insurance companies to cover birth control for women, even though many of those that don’t cover contraception cover viagra). He plays stupid on this issue, but I think he just doesn’t want to talk about it because his position really doesn’t jive well with the general public. 98% of women use some form of contraception during their reproductive years, and the majority of men benefit from this family planning as well. Being anti-birth control doesn’t seem like a practical position to really talk about, even though it’s what McCain’s conservative base seems to require. Bleh.
